Nationally known plastics entrepreneur, inventor and educator John Beaumont has been named to the Plastics Hall of Fame, a part of the Plastics Academy under the auspices of SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association. Beaumont, president and CEO of Erie, Pa.–based Beaumont Technologies, also was recently inducted into the Plastics Pioneers Association. He was inducted at a ceremony during the National Plastics Exposition in Orlando, FL on March 22, 2015.
Established in 1972, the Plastics Hall of Fame pays tribute to the men and women who through dedication and perseverance have significantly contributed to the development and growth of the plastics industry over the past century.
A fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineers, past chair of the IMD Board of Directors and the Injection Molding Division of SPE, Beaumont has revolutionized injection molding with his patented designs of hot and cold runner systems, including the MeltFlipper® technology.
Beaumont is the founder of Behrend’s Plastics CAE Center and has co-authored several books, including the Runner and Gating Handbook, Successful Injection Molding and Injection Molding Handbook. He also is a retired professor and former chairman of the Plastics Engineering Technology program at Penn State Behrend. More recently John has garnered national industry headlines for spearheading inquiries into Chinese patent infringements.
