Nationally known plastics entrepreneur, inventor and educator John Beaumont has been named to the Plastics Hall of Fame, a part of the Plastics Academy under the auspices of SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association. Beaumont, president and CEO of Erie, Pa.–based Beaumont Technologies, also was recently inducted into the Plastics Pioneers Association.
While sampling a hot-to-cold runner mold, a shop was fighting variations that appeared to be related to steel imbalances. It was difficult to show any variations in the actual steel that made sense to the data collected, but during a color change, a few colored streaks were noticed in the runner following the hot tip. The case of an American patent, copyright and trademark theft by a Chinese company is drawing scrutiny from the US Department of Homeland Security and other authorities. The patent, copyright and trademark in question are held by Beaumont Technologies, Inc., Erie, PA. John Beaumont, president and CEO, said a company in China lifted sales information from his company website and other locations, as well as information from Autodesk regarding Moldflow simulation software.
The Beaumont team was very busy during October attending trade shows around the country! Beaumont exhibited at MAPP Benchmarking Conference in Indianapolis, MD&M Chicago and MD&M Minneapolis.
