Plastics engineering leader showcases Ben Ellis, Development Engineer
ERIE, PA —Ben Ellis joined Beaumont Technologies in February 2013 in the role of a development engineer. Ellis is based at Beaumont’s corporate headquarters in Erie, Pa.
Ellis holds a B.S. degree from Penn State Behrend in Plastics Engineering Technology, as well as a minor in Management. His current responsibilities include injection molding research and development, new process development, production molding, mold design, and data acquisition system development and implementation. Ellis has been particularly active working on the continuing methodology and software development of Beaumont’s new Thermo-flo™ injection molding characterization methodology.
Prior to joining Beaumont, Ellis had established a solid industrial foundation working as a process and project engineer at custom injection molder, York Imperial Plastics. While at Penn State Erie, Ellis conducted research on bonding of medical components for assembly and worked two internships at both Plastics Services Network and High Point Tool Company.
