ERIE, PA – Beaumont Technologies, a global leader in plastic engineering, hosted its second annual Executive Summit, Sept. 24-25 in Erie, Pa. Nearly 40 plastics executives from across the country attended the two-day event.
“At our 2014 Summit, we shared our approach to constantly challenge accepted industry practices and standards,” said John Beaumont, company president and CEO. “If the injection molding industry in the US is to survive their fiercely competitive international market, we need to evolve and question how we do things today. From our MeltFlipper® technology to our continuous education courses, we want plastics professionals to understand the value in thinking differently and sharing the knowledge they assimilate with others in our industry.”
The Summit’s numerous seminars and live demonstrations provided insights to Beaumont’s revolutionary MeltFlipper ® technology, new Therma-flo™ material characterization method and software, mold troubleshooting software, mold-filling simulation services and mold diagnostic test software.
Keynote speakers for the event included Troy Nix, executive director of Manufacturers Association for Plastics Processors (MAPP Inc.); Diane Parente, PhD, developer and chair of the Interdisciplinary Business and Engineering program at Penn State Erie; and Beaumont, who recently retired as professor and former chairman of the Plastics Engineering Technology program at Penn State Erie.
